Theodore's Sunday

He left the air-conditioned drugstore with travel medicines. He was new to the city. He wanted to go to nearest beach but the Police Woman she queried about the details was not well-versed.

Theodore decided to postpone the trip.

As he was walking along the sidewalk at the city center, a young boy carrying his baby brother tapped his forearm. He smiled and took out a new crisp paper bill then handed it to the boy.

Then, he continued walking.

After passing the grand Cathedral, he noticed a man sitting on the sidewalk with his bicycle. He halted and asked the man if he were okay. Apparently drunk, the man told him he was just resting.

He could not help but laugh because the man was very happy that he asked how he was.

When he bade his farewell, what lingered on his mind was the words of the man.

"You are a good friend!"

Though both strangers, what resonated in him was a friend in need is a friend indeed.

Because Theodore stopped when others, merely, ignored the fellow.
