Free your mind: He can swim!

Image
Google Images - *Apologies to the owner please contact Inspires if you want that removed. Nicholas James Vujicic saw his first light in this world without limbs. He has the least probable case imaginable, like being hit by lightning four times, but he is with a condition called tetra-amelia syndrome. He lacks both arms and both legs. He is a motivational speaker. And, he can swim and I cannot do such a feat. We, The team of Inspires, invite you to search about him on the Internet.  Then, watch his videos. If you feel at this point in time, that you could not do anything, he might just be able to inspire you!

See No Evil

"You're lucky you're blind, Haley!" Henry told his twin sister. Haley began to well up with tears. "Are you sure you want to have the procedure done?" "Yes, of course, never been so sure in my life." The brother reassured his sibling. "You are, actually, doing me a favor. Because of what happened in my life, I became fearful of colors." Blue reminds me of the ocean that took Grandpa's life away. Yellow reminds me of the cab that, accidentally, hit me and they had to amputate my right leg. Red reminds me of the red barn that caught fire that almost lost our livelihood. Orange reminds me of the orange lamp post that toppled down on our balcony. Black which is, not, technically, a color, reminds me of the black dog that bit my son. Pink reminds me of the pink lemonade that poisoned my daughter in that fancy restaurant. Green reminds me of the green office of my boss who terminated me. Br...

Ascension Presents | Training vs. Working Out

Image
Ascension Press  and  Ascension Presents   in collaboration with  Inspires   give you this riveting magnum opus.‎.. Condensed Reflection by James Z. Carpio The distinction between working out and training is that the former is more relaxed and less serious, while the latter has an ultimate purpose or a goal, which is to, eventually, win! How do you live your life? With regard to your family life, your job, and your prayer life? The focus is, of course, on the prayer life. Father Mike emphasizes on a daily prayer life, in order to reach the Heart of the Father, to be like Jesus, and to be empowered by the Holy Spirit. With the Grace and Help of the Trinity, we pray to be images of Jesus in this world.

The Curious Case of Mr. Barrington

Image
On Monday, he is blind. On Tuesday, he is deaf. On Wednesday, he is mute. On Thursday, he cannot walk and uses a wheelchair. On Friday, he speaks Aramaic. On Saturday, he is normal.  Then, on Sunday he rests. Someone asked him once, "how it's like?" He beamed and gave a hearty laugh. "Well, it surprises people like you for instance". Then, he paused for a fleeting moment. And his face became blank: expressionless. He cleared his throat and mumbled, "I feel the torment that people who do lack those senses, even for a day. I offer it to God as redemptive suffering. And yet, nothing could come close to what the others have to live with throughout their lifetime." He concluded: "So, When I could speak on a given day, I do speak for them..." photo credit: Neil. Moralee Everything is on the internet now. via photopin (license) License: (license)

The Door

Image
Raymond locked the main door. To his profound chagrin, the key broke. The rest of the key was stuck inside the keyhole. His key was made of steel. His younger brother, Jamie, told him, "you should have gotten a key made of Titanium." Raymond took some tools to try to open the door. Jamie told him, "that will just destroy the door, there is a specialist for that or a locksmith." They were running late. So, they left and went out of town. Their other brother, Craig, who was left behind, unfortunately, was locked out. Jamie had always been like Saint Peter, he is the key master. He made it a point to give Titanium keys ever since the door was compromised one night. Closed doors. Open doors. Locked doors. Unlocked doors. Solid doors. Broken doors. He is the specialist for doors. You cannot enter if you are not in the list. You do not have to own an Identification Card. He just have to recognise ...

A Treatise on the Absurdity of a Bicycle?

Image
Ah! The moment man invented the wheel. Life became easier. Metaphorically, the result being a snowball effect. Bicycle; then, motorbike; then, car; then jeep; then, bus; then, truck and so on. Scientists would always say why reinvent the wheel? Meaning do not make things difficult when invention made life wonderful. Back to the bicycle. It has become invisible. It is easily stolen. Even with a chain. Someone even invented a foldable bicycle that can be put in a bag. Brilliant right? But then, the real concern is: it is not about the bicycle at all. No, Sir! You can steal, destroy, overlook, neglect, abuse or whatever people may have in their mind. Their intention, whether good or bad. They do not matter. What matters is, if you break the cyclist's spirit. With a broken spirit, the world becomes desolate and decadent. Did you not realise that when you do bicycling it is the only mode of transportation that, gen...

Celebration: The Second Coming

Image
"Oh! you have a Crucifix," Charles commented. And, he revealed, "I have a Crucifix too, but I hide it inside my shirt." Then, Clark's friend said something but could not remember it verbatim, "You should not do that, because The Lord will tell you one day that I do not know you, for you have hidden Him." He advised Charles to not do it again. His friend told him there would be a feast for ten people.  And, he joyfully, shared his plans, wishes and dreams. His mother's friend thanked him for the myriad lights. When the guests left,  Charles told his younger brother, Chester, "I am glad they are doing very well. And, that they visited us." Dereliction: It is sorrowful...

Image
I  woke up and the world, totally, changed. Do you know about the story of Rip Van Winkle? The man who slept for so long and when he woke up, it was not the same.  At least, in that story everyone just became old. It is poignant indeed. Before original sin.  The world was a paradise. After that dereliction, there became a war between good and evil. The question is... Whose side are you fighting for? I am a writer. I am a Roman Catholic writer. I write for God. He is Jesus Christ The King! Our Lord and our God! Amen. photo credit: Nicolas Vollmer Rome - Adam et Eve au Paradis Terrestre, par Wenzel Peter via photopin (license) License: (license)

Ascension Presents | Is It OK to Judge Someone?

Image
Ascension Press  and  Ascension Presents   in collaboration with  Inspires   give you this riveting magnum opus.‎.. Condensed Reflection by James Z. Carpio His Voice sounds like Thunder and all the sins we committed are in a list as enumerated by the enemy.  On judgment day, THE only fear I have is that Our Father in heaven is displeased with me. I am His. That is my only concern.  The peripherals are none of my business at all.  His assurance makes me feel loved, His Mercy consoles me. Hence, we share that Love to others. That is the Good News. If we do judge, we have to do it the right way! We have to discern actions and tell the TRUTH about them. Again,  Veritas.
