Who is Santa Claus?

Dearest Noel, Jim, Pablo, Philip, Anlu, Connie, Che, Nonnoy, Bobby, Marivic, Popon, Jay, Boy, and Tess:

For a long time now, your friends have been telling you that there is no Santa Claus. That Santa is no one else but Papa. There is that song, "I saw Mommy kissing Santa Claus underneath the mistletoe last night." But, there is that other song, too—"he knows when you've been bad or good; so be good for goodness sake."

If Santa Claus is no one else but the fathers, then there would be millions of Santa Claus throughout the world. And how about those families where their fathers are no more? Is there no Santa Claus for them?

And as you grew older, you must have wondered why I always answered, yes, there is a Santa Claus.

Let's solve the mystery: Why don't we see the real Santa Claus? Because He is a spirit. If He is a spirit, then how many Santa Claus are there throughout the world? Only one. Does He personally go to all the families throughout the world? Yes, He does. But being a spirit, He gives material things through persons. Why does He not give all the children, equally, gifts during Christmas? Because no two people are the same. And because the things that are dearest to people are not the same. But Santa always gives everyone the gift that He knows is best for him/her, at that particular time. Is Santa male or female? Santa Claus acts thru people and the people who act for Him are either male or female although in most families, predominantly male. From the time you were born, who acted for Santa? The ones who love you most. Does Santa Claus really love us? Why does he give us gifts during Christmas? Yes, Santa Claus loves us very very much. And He gives us gifts not only during Christmas but every day of the year. The most precious gift He gave us is life itself.

He so loves all of us that He gave His only Son as the greatest gift for us. His Son became one of us. When He was born of Mary in Bethlehem of Judea, and lay in a manger made of hay, in a cave, upon a hill, while angels sung, "glory to God in the highest and on earth, peace to men of goodwill!"

And this is the reason why even though we give gifts of all kinds to those we love on various occasions throughout the year, throughout the world, the best occasion for gift-giving is Christmas. Because this is the time when Santa Claus Himself gave His greatest gift to mankind. Jesus our Saviour. The only begotten Son of God.

Yes, Santa Claus is God.

Love,
Papa
